Daniel Morford
Daniel Morford is a dedicated public servant with a passion for helping others. Born in Newport, Oregon, in 1986, Daniel always dreamed of adventure, aspiring to be a spaceship captain as a child. When he grew up, he served in the US Army's 82nd Airborne Division, completing two tours in Afghanistan. After his military service, Daniel worked in various roles, including construction and management, before finding his calling as a firefighter.
Daniel joined the Siletz Valley Fire District in 2010 and has since become a Captain and Volunteer Coordinator. He takes pride in his work, helping those in need and serving his community. His accomplishments include growing from a volunteer cadet to a career firefighter, becoming an officer, and earning his EMT certification. Daniel hopes to become a chief officer and encourages younger people to be the light in the darkness for those in need.
When he's not serving his community, Daniel enjoys off-roading and exploring the great outdoors. He values family above all and cherishes time with his wife, Ashley, and their two children, Autumn and Carter. Daniel's love for adventure is matched only by his dedication to public service, and he is an inspiration to his community and colleagues alike.
Daniel's dedication to his community extends beyond his work as a firefighter. He is also the operations director for the Lincoln County Technical Rescue Team, which he’s been a member of since it was established in 2011. In this role, he has helped develop and implement rescue operations and training programs, further demonstrating his commitment to serving others.
Throughout his career, Daniel has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, mentoring and inspiring others to achieve their goals. His dedication to his community, his family, and his work is unwavering, and he is a shining example of what it means to be a public servant. With his technical expertise, tactical skills, and passion for helping others, Daniel is an invaluable asset to the Siletz Valley Fire District.
